Fearfully & Wonderfully
04:18

Fearfully & Wonderfully- an arrangement of Psalm 139 by Luke Vassella
Before a word is on my tongue
You know it completely
All that is and is yet to come
You know it discretely
Where could I go? Where could I flee from your presence?
If I know there's a kingdom coming
How can I deny my lord
If I can't hide, if there's no use running
If his word is sharper than any sword
It has pierced my heart
Renewed my spirit
Called me out of the dark
And given me ears to hear it
Search me and know my heart
Test me and know my worried mind
Anything in me that isn't right
Lead me in your way, help me leave it behind
Where could I go? Where could I flee from your presence?
If I know there's a kingdom coming
How can I deny my lord
If I can't hide, if there's no use running
If his word is sharper than any sword
It has pierced my heart
Renewed my spirit
Called me out of the dark
And given me ears to hear it
Pierce my heart
Renew my spirit
Call me out of the dark
Give me the ears
Oh people we are fearfully and wonderfully made
Why do I worry about my life
What I will eat and what I will wear
If my Father knows what I need
If my Father cares
Why do I worry about tomorrow
I can't add a single hour to my life
Oh people we are fearfully and wonderfully made *3

The Unfailing Love
03:45
|
|||
'The Unfailing Love' - an arrangement of Psalm 130 & 131 by Luke Vassella
Out of the depths I cry to you O Lord
O hear my voice, hear my cry for mercy
If you kept a record of our sins
O who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness
People, put your hope in the Lord forevermore
O People, put your hope in the unfailing love forevermore
There's too much information, there's too much data bearing down on me
How can anybody stand it and not be given over to the fire and the fury
Everybody wants their pound of flesh, the spectacle and the tournament
Still this world staggers on, blissfully deceived with ornament
O people, put your hope in the Lord forevermore
O people, put your hope in the unfailing love forevermore
I wait, my soul waits for the Lord
More than the watchmen wait
More than the watchmen wait for the morning
Lord I give up my pride
I turn away from my arrogance
I do not involve myself with things too wonderful for me
But I have stilled and quieted my soul
Like a child with its mother
A contented child is my soul
O people, put your hope in the Lord forevermore
O people, put your hope in the unfailing love forevermore
I wait, my soul waits for the Lord
More than the watchmen wait
More than the watchmen wait
Be still my soul
Be still my soul
Wait for the Lord

Hoping
04:26
|

Hoping - words & music by Luke Vassella
Looks like we're holding on by the skin of our teeth
How strange to be living in the dying days of the (Great) Barrier reef
Where is the hope to be found as this world comes apart
Is there anything hidden that won't be revealed in each and every heart
I'm hoping
I'm praying
I'm trusting
I am hoping beyond all hope
Hoping against all hope
I'm ready and waiting
Trusting
Praying
I'm wide awake to strengthen what remains
What remains?
Looks like we're being cast down from the highest heights
Like the leaves on the forest ferns we're reaching for the light
People got to lend a hand, people got to give a damn
We're all going to have to serve somebody
Hoping
Praying
Trusting
I am hoping beyond all hope
Hoping against all hope
For the things I cannot see
For what is, and what is yet to be
I'm wide awake to strengthen what remains
What remains?
Hoping beyond all hope, hoping against all hope
For the healing of our nation
For the vital work of regeneration
We have not loved our Neighbour
We have not loved our Mother
Sister or our Brother
We love ourselves; and yet we don't even love ourselves...
We love our comforts
We love our ideology
We love our world view
But if all these things should pass away
I'm still hoping
Hoping
Beyond all hope
Against all hope
Hoping
Praying
Trusting
Hoping

A Sign
03:32
|

A Sign - words & music by Luke Vassella 2017
I need a sign
I need a hand
I need to know
Just where I stand
It's just the faltering faith
Of a mortal man
But I'd appreciate a sign
If you can
I need a sign
I need it bad
I need a sign
More than I ever had
I keep pressing on
I don't know why
Feeling funny in my mind
I could lay down and die
I need a sign
I need some help
I need to know
From the power greater than myself
Reveal your hand
In these troublesome days
Let me know your heart
Let me know your ways
I need a sign
I need it bad
I need a sign
More than I ever had
I keep pressing on
I don't know why
Feeling funny in my mind
I been fixing to die
I need a sign

Wondrous Carbon Dust
03:54
|

Wondrous Carbon Dust - Words & Music by Luke Vassella 2015
I was thinking about the story Jesus told his friends about not giving up
He said there was a judge, didn't care about God or men or old women
He was just an empty cup
He ignored the widow pleading for justice, crying out to him day and night
That judge could not care less, but he got so sick and tired of her persistence
He finally did what was right
So listen to the careless judge, pray my friends and don't give up
Down on the corner of Conway & Carrington Street
2 O'clock every Thursday, I've seen those Knitting Nannas meet
Pleading for justice, to protect the land and the water
For Australia's children, every son and every daughter
O lead us from temptation, deliver us from evil
Father forgive our many sins upon this land and it's people
Teach us to be satisfied with all we need for today
My friends if you can hear
Better keep your eyes wide, the kingdom is near
As it is in heaven let it be on earth
So let it be with you
If you're tired of doing good, when you feel discouraged
Remember the good judge knows what you're going through
Pray his kingdom be revealed in you
Do to others as you'd have them do
Let the kingdom live in you
Let every man be a liar, let God be true
Let the kingdom live in you
Cause this is what we are
The wondrous carbon dust of stars
Father see our hurt
And hear our cry
Before we return to dirt
As it is in heaven let it be on earth

Be Still My Soul
04:47
|
|||
Be Still My Soul - an arrangement of Psalm 37 by Luke Vassella
Be still my soul, wait for the Lord
Do not worry because of evil men
Trust in the Lord and do good
Delight yourself in the Lord
He will give you the desires of your heart
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath
Do not worry, it leads only to evil
In a little while the wicked will be no more
Though you look for them, they will not be found
But the gentle will inherit the land
The wicked borrow and do not repay
But the righteous give generously
If the Lord delights in a man's way he makes his steps firm
Although he stumble, he will not fall
The Lord upholds him with his hand
So turn from evil and do good
You will dwell in the land forever
The Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones
They will be protected forever
But I've seen a wicked and ruthless man flourish like a green tree
But he soon passed away and he was no more
Though I looked for him he could not be found
Consider the blameless, observe the upright
There is a future for the man of peace
Be still my soul
Be still my soul
Be still my soul
Be still my soul
Be still my soul
Wait for the Lord

Mercy Rain
03:14
|
|||
Mercy Rain - words & music by Luke Vassella
Oh mercy rain
Fall on us again
Fill our hearts
Flood into our veins
Mercy fall on down
Over our wounds and scars
Teach us peace
Show us what we are
O maker be our friend
Come make us whole again
Cause we've carried this load
So long our hearts could explode
Mercy rain
Call us by our name
Wash away our shame
O maker be our friend
Come make us whole again
Cause we're already dancing on our graves
In your mercy rain, mercy that saves
Our wayward hearts
From beating in vain
Mercy rain
Fall on us
Again
