A Sign

from 7 Songs by Luke Vassella

/

about

written a few days before the Lismore flood in March 2017.
I was questioning the use of writing any more songs about "saving" the environment. I was looking for some kind of divine confirmation about the relevance and necessity of singing to influence change in society, in preparation for a changed climate.
I don't ask for signs anymore.

lyrics

A Sign - words & music by Luke Vassella 2017

I need a sign
I need a hand
I need to know
Just where I stand
It's just the faltering faith
Of a mortal man
But I'd appreciate a sign
If you can

I need a sign
I need it bad
I need a sign
More than I ever had
I keep pressing on
I don't know why
Feeling funny in my mind
I could lay down and die

I need a sign
I need some help
I need to know
From the power greater than myself
Reveal your hand
In these troublesome days
Let me know your heart
Let me know your ways

I need a sign
I need it bad
I need a sign
More than I ever had
I keep pressing on
I don't know why
Feeling funny in my mind
I been fixing to die

I need a sign
